About FlightAnxiety.com
Built by someone who knows exactly what a racing heart at 35,000 feet feels like — and what it takes to calm it down.
Why this site exists
FlightAnxiety.com was founded by Kim, who spent years avoiding flights, white-knuckling takeoffs and arriving at destinations exhausted before the trip had even started. What changed things was not a miracle cure, but a method: understanding what actually happens in an aircraft, learning how the body's alarm system works, and practicing a small set of techniques that reliably dial it down.
That method became the ebook Calm Skies — A Practical Guide to Overcoming Flight Anxiety, and this website became the place where the same knowledge is shared for free, in plain language, without scare stories or miracle promises.
What you'll find here
- Understand the fear — clear explanations of fear of flying, turbulence, pre-flight nerves and panic attacks on planes.
- Calm your body — step-by-step relaxation techniques, practical things that help and an honest look at natural remedies.
- Beat it for good — a guide to treatment options, from self-help to therapy and fear-of-flying courses.
Editorial policy
Trust matters more than traffic. Every article on FlightAnxiety.com follows the same rules:
- Evidence first. Claims about safety, statistics and techniques are based on published sources — aviation safety reports (IATA, FAA), peer-reviewed research and established clinical practice. Key sources are listed at the bottom of each article.
- Honesty about uncertainty. Where evidence is weak or mixed (for example herbal supplements), we say so plainly instead of overselling.
- No scare tactics. This site will never use frightening images or worst-case stories to sell you something. Anxious flyers deserve better.
- Regular review. Articles are reviewed and updated as new research and safety data appear. Each article shows its last-reviewed date.
- Not medical advice. Content is educational self-help, not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. We always point readers with severe anxiety toward qualified professionals.
How this site is funded
FlightAnxiety.com is funded by sales of the Calm Skies ebook. There is no display advertising and no sponsored content, so articles are never written to please an advertiser. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed clearly on the relevant page.
